Good stuff - interesting new raised a lot of the same issues as our Nottingham Unconference - naely that the report should be addressing needs of smaller business and the community, not just corporates, and we need a more ambitious target for both up and download speed connectivity nationally for Britain to stay competitiive.

Here's out bits here:

The building societies example - investment in infrastructure- was to illustrate how mutual ownership of next generation broadband networks could be achieved.
There are several community broadband initiatives, example
http://www.broadband.coop/
Next gen can be financed by a combination of public, venture capital and mutual funding.

[...] The event will not keep to a strict unconference format (we prefer to see an unconference as being informal rather than unstructured). A call has been put out for people to chair a number of different strands of the day. Each strand will aim to explore one of the five key points of the report. [...]

I would be happy to deliver an 'un-non-paper' and chair discussion around digital education/literacy (e.g. on the distinctions between training and education and expectations around this area; digital divides and access et al).

This would be anchored to our experience at BCU of launching an MA in Social Media and the curious responses it drew from the traditional press and indeed online discussion sites.
